John Mayeaux Memorial Blood Drive

As some of you may know
Johnny Mayeaux passed away earlier this year. He fought
a tough fight with Leukemia but was very positive to the
end. I had spoken to him a few weeks before he passed
and he was extremely positive he was going to win. He
may have passed but he still won and lived everyday a
believer in winning. He was survived by 1 daughter
Lauren.
All of you
may have not known John. He came to Bonnabel in his
Senior year in 1973, he joined the football team and
became instantly accepted. He had charisma and
carried himself with self confidence and character that
was always pragmatic and fun to be around. He
graduated in 1974. The few of us that went to his
memorial found out he lived life to the fullest. He
drove a truck for UPS and the way it sounded from the
stories of his co workers he was the company
entertainment. He continued to make a lot of friends.
The stories some of his family members and co workers
told were really great. He was fun to be around. We all
could be so lucky to pass with the great memorial
service his Daughter, relatives, friends and coworkers
gave him.
His
daughter Lauren asked at his memorial for people to get
involved in helping fighting Leukemia. She was just very
grateful for the people who had helped during the whole
ordeal, getting blood was one of the issues she had
while Johnny was going through entire process so Coach
Bonewitz suggested a blood drive in Johnny’s name and
here we are.
The blood drive will be held March 19th from
9:00am till 2:00pm in the parking lot at
Bonnabel
High School.
Put it
on your calendar. It will be nice to visit for a while.
